INTRODUCTION:

Visiting Himachal Pradesh in winter is exactly what you call heaven. You can witness huge snow-covered mountains and hills. The temperature ranges between 0-15 degrees celsius in upper Himachali states. Apart from its beauty, this state offers many outdoor activities one can perform during their vacations like hiking, trekking, rafting, paragliding etc. Himachal offers the best possible sceneries for tourists. Himachal Pradesh has some of the best treks in the world which are favoured by adventure seekers. Some of the treks are the Hampta pass trek, Kheerganga trek, Pin Parvati trek, Beas Kund trek, Prashar lake trek etc. 

The state experiences heavy snowstorms in winter and is very cold. The temperature drops to negative in some states at night. You can have a trip to the treks mentioned below in winter to experience the best. 

  1. Kasol-Kheerganga trek: Kheerganga trek is one of the most suggested ones among all the treks in Parvati valley. This trek takes you through some incredible views which will leave you spellbound. This trek is not too much time-consuming. Also, it does not need any prior trekking experience which means it is ideal for beginners. While trekking through the exquisite landscape of Himachal Pradesh, you can see the best sights of nature which are unbeaten by the show of cities. There are some parts of the trek where you can experience some difficult trails. 
  1. Triund trek: Triund trek is located in Dharamshala, which is in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Triund trek has become a well-known trekking place among the trekkers of India as well as among tourists from abroad. The place has become popular due to the developments in recent years such as signal connectivity and thus access to this place has become easy. The elevation of this journey is roughly 2,828 metres. Each year, numerous tourists visit this trek to enjoy the tranquillity of this place and rejuvenate themselves in the lap of nature. The Dhauladhar Himalayas can be seen in countless spectacular ways from this location.. Also, there are several tourist destinations near this trek, making this place more recognised. 

The total path to be covered is 9 km approx. and it takes nearly 4-6 hours to complete the trail. But it is advised to stay there overnight to watch the fascinating sunset and sunrise. So, on average people remain there for at least 2 days. 

  1. Beas Kund: This is another winter trek located in the Manali area of the state. This trek is through the source of the Beas river that flows through Manali. This trek is full of lush green grasslands and many picturesque areas that will leave you astonished. It takes nearly 3-4 days to finish the trek. During the whole trek, you will be escorted by the deodar trees. Bakarthach and Dhundhi are the grasslands located on the way to trek. 
  1. Pin Parvati Trek: The Pin Parvati Trek is one of Himachal Pradesh’s most adventurous trekking trails. It is considered a difficult trek. The unbelievable beauty of this trek will make you forget about the difficulties it presents. You can take a look at the mountains covered with snow as you cross the Parvati Valleys through the Spiti Valley. The astonishing view of Thukarkuan and Mantalai necessitates acclimatisation before your flight to Mantalai Lake, which will awaken your senses. With its terrains of mountains, snowfields, and rocky bridges, the much-anticipated Parvati Base Camp and the Pin Base Camp welcomes you.
  1. Hampta Pass Trek: The Hampta Pass Trek is best for anyone who enjoys mountains and wants to experience adventure in the midst of them. The moderately high elevation of this trek appeals to beginner and amateur mountaineers alike.On this trail, a hiker can ascend to a maximum elevation of about 14000 feet. Acclimatization is not required. The tour begins in Manali’s scenic area and takes visitors to beautiful and unique locations such as Chikka, the excursion’s first stop. Trekkers will also cross through extended Rhododendron, Oak, and Pine areas. Also, the Hampta River is on the way. This river is used to cart goods and people. Hampta citizens use it as a bridge to get to Lahaul and Spiti Valley.
  1. Kareri Lake Trek: This trek is located in Mcleodganj in the lap of Dhauladhar valley. This splendid trek passes through grasslands, meadows, forests, and lakes. Kareri lake is a freshwater lake situated between mountains and grasslands. It is a trek at an altitude of up to 9,650 ft. You will get a chance to rest under the starry sky. Take the benefit of the simple lifestyle of the villagers stepping away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
