Some Easy Steps To Hang Curtains Over Blinds

The combination of curtains and blinds will give your space an attractive look and allow you to have complete control over light. You can entertain yourself with so many benefits. This combination will also provide you with complete privacy.

Your home windows might already have blinds installed. All you have to do is just follow these mentioned steps for the installation of curtains over blinds and allow your space to get an adorable look. These simple steps will take no time and add charm to your entire home interior.

1. Materials & Tools You Will Need

First, you need to collect the complete material that you will require for the installation of curtains. This step will save you time and let you do the installation process with no frustration. You will need curtain rods, curtain brackets, measuring tape, screws, a screwdriver, a hammer, and a drilling machine.

2. Take the Measurements

Now, it is time to take the exact measurements of your windows before you install curtains. Put one end of your measuring tape on one end of your window and bring it to the other end horizontally. Write the exact measurement and add up to 4 inches to it. This will be the width of your curtain rods. In a similar way, place one end of the measuring tape on the top of the headrail of your blinds and bring it down to the bottom. Increase the length by 5-6 inches so that your curtain can touch the ground and give your space a luxurious appearance.

3. Install the Curtain Brackets

After having all the material and the exact measurements, you will now need to install the curtain bracket into the wall. For that sake, drill holes into the wall. But, it is recommended to install these brackets over the headrail of your blinds. This will save you the wall from getting holes in it and also save you time.

Install the brackets carefully by keeping the curtain rod length in your mind which should be 2 inches long from both sides of your window, of course. It is also recommended to install a third bracket in the center of your window above the headrail to give enough support to the curtain rod.

4. Install the Curtain Rods

Now, install your curtain rods over the curtain brackets. First, put one end on the bracket and make sure it is secure enough to not fall. Now, place the other end of your rod on the other bracket. Check if the brackets are moving slightly or not. If you notice even a slight move, then you need to install some heavier brackets that could bear the weight of rods and curtains, as well.

5. Put up the Curtains

When you are done with the installation of curtain rods and brackets. Now, you can dress up your window by placing the hangings on the rod. Bring one end of the rod down and start installing your curtain on it. Place the end back into the bracket and make sure that it is secure enough. Allow your space to shine while maintaining complete control over sunlight. Now, open and close the curtains to check if the blinds and curtains are functioning properly.

To Sum Up

Finally, I would recommend using these easy tips to install some beautiful curtains over blinds so that your home space can gain a touch of elegance. These steps require a minimum amount of time for the installation of this combination, which will give you so many benefits.
